Technology Forensics
Technology Forensics is the only recognized investigative tool for the procurement of digital evidence. Most cases today, whether in state or federal court, will involve computer data in some form. Having one of our lead computer forensic experts, who are all Licensed Private Investigators, on your team will insure no detail of the evidence request is overlooked.
The passage of time is your worst enemy in cases involving computer data. When you delete a file from your computer it is not immediately erased from the hard drive. Rather the space it occupies on your hard drive is marked available for re-use. Your computer decides when to use the space as you add new documents or other downloads. This is why it is important to have us image the hard drive now and analyze the recovered data later. Otherwise, you run the risk of having the data overwritten. Once the computer overwrites the file it is not typically recoverable.
Our experienced, Licensed Private Investigators use industry standard hardware and software. This insures the information developed through our forensic Investigation will stand up to Voir Dire in a court of law. Only Licensed Private Investigators can conduct detailed Investigations on the data recovered. Using unlicensed "examiners" provides no such guarantee as you run the risk of any work done by them being excluded by the court as a violation of CA B&P Code Section 7521(e).
